The Satilla Regional Heart Center proves Satilla Regional’s commitment to progressive cardiac treatment in state-of-the-art facilities. With a dedicated drive-through entrance, the Heart Center is conveniently located near the emergency and diagnostic imaging departments, creating a seamless service area for patients in need of cardiac services.

The Satilla Regional Heart Center is the region’s leader in detecting, diagnosing and treating the region’s number one health problem: cardiovascular disease. Using such diagnostic tools as heart catheterizations, electrocardiograms (ECG), echocardiograms (ECHO), exercise stress tests and nuclear studies, the Heart Center team searches for signs of heart and blood vessel disease. When further procedures are required, the Heart Center is ready with the technology, staff and experience. Working with other physicians and SRMC’s team of cardiovascular nurses, radiology technologists, and nuclear technologists, cardiologists on the Medical Staff perform more than 900 cardiac catheterizations in a typical year, as well as other advanced procedures

Your Heart
The normal heart is a strong, muscular pump a little larger than a fist. Each day, the average heart "beats" (expands and contracts) 100,000 times and pumps about 2,000 gallons of blood. In a 70-year lifetime, an average human heart beats more than 2.5 billion times. The heart pumps blood to the lungs and to all the body`s tissues by a sequence of highly organized contractions of its four chambers. For the heart to function properly, the four chambers must beat in an organized manner.

Introducing the Cardiac Continuum at the Satilla Regional Heart Center
At the Satilla Regional Heart Center, we take an organized approach to caring for heart patients. Our Cardiac Continuum links all aspects of heart care into a system of coordinated services. Heart caring at Satilla puts advanced technology in the hands of some of the region’s top cardiologists, vascular surgeons and other physician specialists, all supported by Satilla’s experienced, patient-centered staff. When even more advanced treatment is required, Satilla Regional Medical Center is partnered with hospitals in Jacksonville. From emergency treatment for sudden heart attacks to long-term rehabilitation, the Heart Center doesn’t miss a beat when it comes to providing pacesetting heart care to the region

Convenience, Privacy, Reassurance
Heart caring at the Satilla Regional Heart Center involves not only advanced medicine but also our personal concern for patients and families. That includes making it as simple as possible to arrange for your procedure. Registration, lab work and procedures all take place in the privacy and convenience of one location. The Heart Center team of caring professionals takes times to explain your care every step of the way, answering questions and offering Satilla’s special brand of personal attention.

Emergency Heart Care
Satilla’s Emergency Department is prepared 24-hours-a-day, 365-days-a-year to respond immediately to cardiac emergencies. Cardiologists and nurses certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) provide rapid response care for patients experiencing potential heart problems. Resources include thrombolytic therapy designed to rapidly dissolve blood clots during sudden heart attacks, with the goal of preventing or minimizing damage to the heart.

Pediatric Cardiology
Pediatric cardiologists from Wolfson Children`s Hospital are available to pediatric heart patients two days a month. Please call the Heart Center for more information.
