*** Preview, Review, Streaming Links + Upcoming Features *** Preview: 07 – 10 – 19***We are honored to Bobby Coleman as our feature. He is a warm, engaging, thoughtful, and a deeply considerate person, a soulful spirit, and a big heart, a musician, and poet. A traditional man of letters who refuses to wear bow ties and round glasses, a graduate of Columbia and Stanford, a singer in a touring Leonard Cohen choir, and influential figure in cultural and political affairs for many decades. Bobby says, “I am consistently in the literary life. I care not a whit for my degrees or pedigrees, only my actions and service.”He is currently excited about his work on Ferlinghetti at 100, a tribute anthology, which we look forward to seeing. Here is his bio as a poet & editor, as well as a photo: http://www.studiosaraswati.com/bobby-coleman https://youtu.be/12EaYoMOfVU his recent libretto in Ladino (a nearly-extinct 15th century Judeo-Spanish) is performed Melinda Becker with Musical Art Quintet and guest performers led by composer Sascha Jacobsen. Inspired by 11th century Ladino poets, the work seeks to honor those creative antecedents.Ah, yes, as to the Keynote, that will be wrob, while our co-pilot will be the very helpful, patient and kind Sharon Scott-Kish, so no talking in the back rows, braving the act, the evening’s MINI will be the well respected Britt Peter, for goodness sake. The LAST WORD will be someone, so it won’t be a volunteer, nor the person upon whom the status devolves by mere chance. Yea verily, it will be another roundhouse to the soul on this wide-open mic…Yowza!

Oh, how could I forget, the evening’s theme or prompt , will be “Cool, still a fool” this was suggested by David or “Recipe with Raspberry” per Rose, some confusion on my part there. Have at it folks, may you attend and read for all you’re worth! If anyone knows anything about a guitar that was left at Sacred last week, please let me know.*** Review: 07 – 03 – 19*** First Show : (00:00 – 01:08) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QHy6cUTQvHU David E did the reading of the short version of the announcements yet with panache and asides already – the Keynote, Britt Peter read “The Invisible Horseman” by Loren Eisley, StephanieM spoke on the perspective of wealth– BrittP Jazz tweaking the staid, can you dig it – DNSimmers, read from his book “The Red School Bus”, long time no see, AliceR much honored editor of the HALJ, was well received – JC, welcome back, via flashbacks, carrying on – DooDooMon on concentration camps – OwenD climbing into the clouds – VincentC minds lighting up at city college, a force – DavidE mentioned Nelson, Cash, and time to go – The Free Radical told a tale of NYC and chocolate – TomH, wow the humor, the poignancy, the deliver, yes, KarenMM premature babies dying in the “care centers” at the border– MartinJ told us all about the center of the universe – yes indeed!
